Carbine recoil plate, trigger housing - help id
I have recently purchased a Winchester carbine. The recoil plate is marked (best i can see) with an I B . Any idea who this is? I tried a search but could not locate. Also, the trigger housing only has what appears to be a 6 on the left side rear and can find no other marks.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Look in the mag well for marks in Trigger housing. Where is the IB stamped on the plate?

Alabama, the I B is on the inside right below where the recoil lug mates up. Also, I will check the magwell, thanks.

If the 6 is on the rear post below the lug that slides into the receiver in may be a NPM housing. If it is you would expect to find an N in the same place on the rightside. Are all 4 ears onthe lug square or are the rear ears angled?
Look for a .U. at the top of the inside rear mag well wall. Underwood usually has a flaming bomb stamped in front of the triggerguard on the bottom of the housing.

Sounds like BI stamped upside down.
Making it a recoil plate used by Inland.
Does your trigger housing look anything like this one?
If so, It would be a National postal Meter housing.
