    Mag Catches

    #26453 flat and # #96953 serrated. Does this appear correct to you folk ?, Am looking at Riesch, Page 66. Thanks.

    Not at home to check for sure, but I believe yes they could be correct.
    Your later one with the serrations has had the long face ground down ( tab on the side by the buttom face on your smooth face one ) this was done as a modification. That would have delayed it in getting on the production line a little while. My 115K has the same type as your 26453. What are your barrel dates on each.

    HI Mikey,
    That is precisely the mag catch variants in order on my 32798 (8-42 bbl date) and 111582 (12-42 bbl date) Inlands. There's a theory that Inland basically smooth ground the front extended portion of the later serrated variant to use on production carbines about that ser# range for a short while. Whether ground or produced as such, they are correct for the time frame and serial number range I believe. As is often the case, the "early" versions can be found on all the 1942 to early 43 Inlands and I suppose a bit beyond.
