No 4 T base "kit"
The other day while jumping from one web page to another, I saw someone selling No.4 T scope bases in a kit with the proper taps and screws included...but I did not bookmark it. Anyone know who/what comapny that is?
I am thinking about putting a No 4 Mk 1 T together with the current available repro parts to compete in local vintage sniper shoots.
Thanks. Tony

It'll be Sarco .. I wanted one but they wouldn't post the kit overseas for some reason. I did get a mount on it's own though.

Before you jump in, order from Sarco and start hacking into your receiver......check out a couple of the recent threads on mounts and the challenges of fitting them correctly. it will save you time, money and eliminate the danger of doing irrepairable damage to your rifle:
No4 Mk1*
Building a No4T or L42 replica - scope alternatives
No4 T replica scope mounts.
(There are more but this is a starter...)
I would also strongly recommend anyone looking at a No4T "kit" to look at Roger Payne
's scope bracket and pads before finalising any purchase. These are (IMHO) the best and most accurate reproductions out there. they are very reasonably priced and I can vouch that they work.
From my recent experience it is easy to believe that a replica No4T is going to work out cheaper than buying a mid-priced original. If you intend to hunt down and buy the best repro and (where available) original components for a true replica (in particular an original and fully functional No32) you will not be far short of the cost of a decent original (at least in the UK
) by the time the work is completed.
p.s. I would also recommend Jon Moore's reproduction scope caps (if you have a No32-real or repro) without the originals.
