Vern: I have a 3.05 Inland and it also has an 11-43 barrel. On mine, the slide stop (slot) in the receiver has a hole all the way through - I thought I read someplace that it is supposed to - but I see that yours doesn't. Maybe mine's been modifed because it was worn - not sure? Bob

Bob, I have 3002xxx it too has barrel dated 11-43 the hole for the slide stop does not go all the way through the rail. I looked through CC newsletter #353 but did not see any mention of the slot/hole for the slide stop. The stock is one of the RMC I cuts supplied to Inland.

It is apparently OK for the slide stop hole to push through into the spring area as the deep hole drilling was sometimes all over. Or, it was not a bad enough fault to reject the receiver. I recall looking at some photos and seeing the spring down there, my Winchester didn't have that, so I asked. It really doesn't affect the operation of the carbine slide stop at all..

I noticed the punch mark is located quite a way from the early sight. I think it further suggests that mark was probably used as some kind of a check indicator (?)

My Inland is a rebuild "mixmaster" with a Type 4 slide that has a small "w" in the bottom - probably a Winchester. The stock is an SA "potbelly" M2 type. I think the barrel is original, but that may be about all - sorry! - Bob
