No4 MKI* Long Branch 1944, England '44
I have in my hands as of today a military rifle of some kind. These are the markings on the gun...............No4 MKI* Long Branch 1944, England
'44....
81L4049.......L23.......I know nothing about this type rifle and the owner is wanting to sell it because she was left nothing by her late husband and needs the money. It has no scope mounts but a tang type rear sight. The gun is in good condition but needs a good cleaning. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

If you could post some good pictures the appraisals would be more accurate. Depending on what part of the country your from $225 to $350 would be a swag.

What you have is a Canadian made Lee Enfield that saw service in England during the war. The above quoted price is an accurate range and could in some cases go a bit higher if you are in Canada
depending on a lot of factors. It should look like any of the three rifles in the MKL
entry for the RCMP marked Long Branch No.4’s less the RCMP markings of course if it's still original. Any missing wood/parts will have a negative affect on it’s value.
