Yes, Bushy... looking at the bid history there are two guys in particular who have made 11 of the 18 bids. This could go ballistic yet, unless Lithy is right, in which case I'd say it's over. Watching with very much interest. If it sells to someone who has a scopeless HT or a stuffed scope, what's the bet the bases and possibly a stuffed scope appear for auction to subsidise the purchase.... It's interesting seeing stuff come around again.

Thanks for the pics Badger. He's added some since it first listed.... I did send him a question about the number on the brass ring at the eyepiece end, but haven't had a reply. When the first owner supplied the details of the scope to me a few years ago, he didn't find the number... I was looking for confirmation one way or the other. Still, no doubting it is all matching, but none of it has ever been on a rifle, despite what the seller is saying.

    Ozzie P18 Scope

    Yes also watching with interest

Here's one of mine from collection if I recall is 100% matching every part numbered same. And scope was definitely on a rifle. Wonder if rifle ever turned up yet Son or a numbered case?

Has anybody got or seen the front rifle base for scope 1931?

I wonder if the increase in bidding had to do with the addition carry bag for the scope?

Still, no doubting it is all matching, but none of it has ever been on a rifle, despite what the seller is saying.
Thats a shame, but i would take a mismatched rifle/scope over having nothing anyday...... alas, the wife says landscaping the yard and finishing off the new house is a higher priority.

    I wish she was wrong.

Have a go at V**N's bidding history.

More bids in the last 30 days than I've made in 5 years.

I'm calling it (the auction, not the item) dodgy.

wowsers....... did you see the finishing price?

Theres another AOC Patt 1918 on a gun auction site for half what they paid for it, if in fact it was a legitimate auction.

I notice that V**N is bidding on at least one of this seller's auctions. The one for the volley-sight rear arm is up to US$ 57-odd, and guess who the leading bidder is?!

    Cheers,
    Matt
