First off we’ll start with a few quick pictures that I managed to snap between the rain sprinkles. The back drop is nothing fancier than the burn pile.

I checked my head clearance tonight but with a slightly altered method. I used my brass cleaning rod and a dial caliper. I first measured with the breech block closed and applied enough pressure on the cleaning rod to hold the brass case firmly against the breech block face. Next I opened the breech block and firmly pressed the brass case into the chamber and measured again. The difference was 10 thou. I think we’re good.

Happy that my head clearance was well within spec, I moved onto testing with live primers. I knew from previous inspection that the firing pin was in good working order so we’ll move onto actual firing.
Other than a ten lawyer trigger pull, it worked fine. Nice deep round craters.

I’ll close with a picture of my current supply of goodies.

    Now the fun begins

That's Britishicon understatement. 10 thou is excellent.

And the whole rifle is now looking good. What a difference to the very first picture you posted!

    On to Part 13!
