Good lad! A lot of people concentrate on external prettiness and forget that the barrel channel is very vulnerable. Dry - the fore-end warps. Wet - the barrel rusts - and the stock warps. Get it well oiled with BLO, and it will be good for the wood and not hurt the metal.
