Where can I get these for my Carbines?

I have the same "filling up of the safe" syndrome. I put them all in silicone treated gun socks so they would not bang each other.

Yeah but the vinyl tabs should be less than the $5 "gun sacks" and I'd rather open the safe and see guns instead of sacks. Another idea would be to seal them up in air tight barrels like they did after the war. - Bob

PS: I do have a couple in the safe now in the sacks, and they are nice.

I have an otherwise perfect 1903A3 that has a round indention just under the CC that looks as if it's from a bolt handle knob.
I figure it was stored for a long time with the bolt from another rifle next to it pressing against the stock.

I found some of these by searching for hydraulic fitting vendors, then thread protector caps. One site even offered free samples of various sizes and colors, but since I no longer have access to company accounts, etc. I didn't want to be obligated with salesmen for the product. During a trip in town today I took a couple samples that I had in my tool box to a local automotive parts house. Someone had told me that automotive connecting rod bolt thread protectors were now made similiar to these. The counterman told me the ones he had seen were different and offered to have me look at a package of carburetor and vacuum fitting caps. I decided to buy a package and I believe they will work. They are a little stiffer (higher durometer) but pretty sure they'll do the trick. They ran $3 - $4 for the package and I'lll have plenty left over for my automotive tinkering. - Bob
