    comet, if you handload or not for that matter do a cerrasafe chamber casting it will tell you if you have a long throat (probably do ),if so you can seat the bullet a little farther out in the brass and you can contact the lands/grooves in the bore ,also slug your barrel it may be larger than you think and commercial ammo tends to size down the "older calibers" to meet SAMMI specs (lawers ya know!).
    i shoot cast in my mausers and size them to suit my particular rifle,,,it's fun .
    anyway have fun and shoot safe.
