Thanks Charlie, I have a HI stock that has 86 4 ink stamp in the slide channel. I took it to mean the 86th. day of 1944. Would that be correct?
The RSG stock that I pictured has the station/inspection stamp. I think I got it now.....Frank

Mikey, "Catalina" did not come to mind. When we think Cats we think "Caterpiller".
Did your gramps stay with flying after the war?
    Take care.....Frank

    Mike,

You have a family history to be proud of.

Funny though, when I think of a Catalina, I think of this car from my teen years.

Is a Cat and a PBY the same thing, or just planes with some similarities?

Thanks Frank and Charlie for the stock info. I was really questioning the one that looks like it bounced, it looks almost like ink instead of a stamp - very faint. Here's some more pictures. I can't see anything in the ink of the slide channel other than it's there. I can see the RSG in one sling well, and RS for sure in the other - maybe something after the RS? I've got a repair on one of these that I'm going to wait awhile before showing the picture - it's kind of ugly! - Bob

Jim, yea that's a car. Love those Pontiacs!!

Bob, looks like 29710, must be the inspector/station stamp that Charlie refered to.
