Lots to take into account. The specials are basically new rifles and shoot super with that new crit BBL. The flip side of the coin is $400 difference in price with many if not most of the SG measuring darn near new condition these days. The SG will grow in value the special not so much. If you could make it to one of the CMPstores and hand pick a SG that would be the way to go and spend the extra $$$ on ammo. Another consideration is some of those new CMP walnut stocks need alot of fitting to make them accurate. I bought one last fall that had to have alot of wood removed around the OP Rod etc before it would shoot well. Like I say..lots to take into account. Can't go far wrong either way..I know that just muddied the water a bit more but i think you will enjoy either..
