Usual Marlin problems around here:
Loading gate screw gets loose and the gate binds the action.
Loading gate screw falls off.
Rocker arm on the loading platform breaks. Make the rifle unusable or a single shot.
Bent lever keeps action from fully closing and lever doesn't engage trigger block. Easily fixed- if the lever doesn't break off!
Ejector left out when cleaned from the rear. (Rare- cleaning from the rear that is.)
Bad chamber hinders extraction to the point that the lever gets bent trying to cayle the action. Particularly common in .44 Mags.
Rough/bad chamber prevents extraction to the point that the extractor tip breaks. Also tends to go w/ bent levers.
Good Marlins are OK, but I'm not much of a fan anymore. I used to wonder why people bought Winchesters at all! No more. Plus, Winchesters probably weigh a good pound less.Information
