03A3 part name
On the 03A3 the steel ring in front of the receiver that goes over the barrel and slides over the forearm to keep it tight onto the barrel is called what? Does anyone know where i could get this part? thank-you for any help you can give me on this matter.

It is called a Receiver Ring, or to be more precise a barrel guard ring according to the TM 9-1270 Manual of 1944. For only the 1903A3 and 1903A4.

If, as you describe, the ring keeps the handguard tight on the barrel, you have a problem. These things are fun, but can be even more fun if you take the time to learn how they work. Try a book (or several).

Thanks tomwatts, that is the last piece i needed to bring this 03A3 back to original configeration and i had a senior moment and for the life of me i couldn't think of the part nane ...thanks again tom![COLOR="Silver"]

firstflabn > HUH !! > I just forgot the name of the part however i fully understand the workings of a rifle and what function the parts serve to make it work...
