I got mine for $1500. It's the Scout model with the 18' barrel and synthetic stock. It's a dream to shoot and eats anything I put through it with decent results. Even the Indonesian stuff. The $1700+ pricetag is suggested retail. If you have a dealer you work with all the time you can work something out. The individual I went through was offered $100 over cost.. He asked what I thought that number was and I said $1500. That's what I got it for. Very seldom do I pay retail.
