Yup, front sight's gotta come off. It's easier than removing the front sight block. Just scribe a witness line between the sight and base before removing. Or use a precision measuring instrument that can measure the sight position. (Calipers will work if you're careful.) Not a big chore, plus all the new furniture will require a rezero, regardless. Good excuse to hit the range!
