thoughts on this modified m2 housing

Sorry Bill but I don't buy that. I have several modified M1 housings that do not have the beveled pin hole that are on CMP carbines. If you ask the question on the CMP forum how many have received modified M1 housings that don't have the beveled hole you'll see they are not uncommon.

I believe you, but remember the bulk of the CMP stuff is from foreign countries. That does not surprise me.

It sounds like we sent over items that were not quite up to date. That happens.

Back in the 1970's I found many that came out surplus from Pueblo Army Depot. They were all modified with the bevel.

The Trigger housing I have pictured here is long gone. I do recall that the pin hole was not beveled, but don't recall if it had the extra metal ground away under the sear.
These are the only pictures I have of it. I had bought it from a friend who was parting out a CMP mixer. He hadn't noticed it had the M2 mods, so he passed along another.
