Stevo, yes, I shoot from a rest. I think if that was the issue though, I'm guessing my SKS would probably be doing the same thing.
I'm really not too worried about it. If I were using the rifle to hunt with, and I didn't drop an animal with the first 60 shots....... well I think hunting should be off my recreational activities list, if you catch my drift. When I go to the range to play, I usually take three or four other rifles with me, so I just play with the other ones after I'm done with the 858.
Thanks again for your input, MK

Once the 858 has cooled down, does it shoot to the original POI?
I don't think the 858 and SKS will react to shooting from a rest the same way due to the full wood stock on the SKS. Of course, I could just be talking out of my.....well you know what.

Stevo, I've only had the rifle out on fairly warm days. I did let it cool down once for about an hour, then tried again. It did go back to POI, but the accuracy went away again after just three or four shots. It was too hot out that day for the barrel to cool down much.
Saw your rifles on another thread, nice iron. Kind of makes me jealous to see the AK's our bretheren to the south get to own.
Cheers MK
