springfield 1903 03-A3 opinion, suggestions, value
I purchased this on a whim. It appeared to be in very good condition and close to the military configuration that I can tell. For the most part from the info I found apears to be mostly Remington parts.
I know the stock was refinished but retains the FJA,P and other proof marks
Serial number is 3,542,ish barrel is marked SA 3-43 over all it looks nice. I just dont know if the reciever and barrel where reblued or did they come blued ? The barrel appears to be in good shape. Far better than anything I have seen when I come across these. One mark that seems to have me stumped is in the flameing bomb on the barrel there is a dot or punch mark in the center of the bomb. The markings on the barrel are very faint and I suspect this was do to a refinish and reblue ? I used the headspace guages gonogo set and it passed.
I just dont know if I should be happy or meh??? Piad 375.00 pics are not great but im luck to even get my camera to work and down load pics. I plan on shooting it @ my clubs CMP monthly gathering.

Just my opinion, but its well worth what you paid for it!
I would be very pleased to purchase that gun for $375
Nice 03A3's go for $500++ depending on a lot of factors.
Your pictures do not allow for telling if all the parts are original or not.
(Looks like it might be a restore project with all GI parts)
Regardless, Congratulations!
PS, If you decide its meh, send me an e-mail, I will take it off your hands, I am sure we can deal.

Your pictures indicate you have a Remington 1903-A3, and I am betting the barrel is RA instead of SA. The original finish of the barrel and receiver would have been phosphate (Parkerizing), and the small parts would be blue. If the barrel and receiver are now blue it has been refinished.

How much does reblue affect value, especially as a shooter which I intend it to be

What are the markings on the top of the barrel by the front sight? How many rifling grooves are there?
