I would try and take them apart to look at the metal and wood that is not exposed. Does it look like honest age, grime in the nooks and crannies? If I paid a lot for them I would put them in a safe untill I was sure if they were real or copies. They would look good in glass covered shadow box's. Try asking on the BP section on CSP. You could also try asking the people at Dixie gun works. They've been in the black powder buisness a long time and may be able to point you in the right direction.
