I have a WRA Type III stock here that had a Korean rack paint job on it.
The Rack paint was applied just forward of the right side oiler slot. Here it shows signs of being sanded across the grain.
Not sanded far enough forward to have removed a normaly placed WRA CC.
Instead of a CC it has a Rectangular box with G.H.D. inside.... similar but not exactly like the one pictured above. This one is stamped up side down.
W marked slingwell, other usual signs found on WRA stocks. Wood bridge marked D.
The camera is on vacation with the wife.
But I can't explain this one.
Has anyone ever seen just a 3/8" tall by 13/16" wide boxed G.H.D. stamp on a Winchester carbine stock?
Not trying to take over this thread, just seen the boxed GHD above and remembered I had this one here.
