Post WWII Type III Round.
Marked with a W with in 2 circles on the right lug.
Gas hole on the bottom.

It's not a W it is an M. Made by Cadillac Gage in the 1960s.

While on the subject of bolts I have a round blued bolt, gas hole and letter D on left lug. Any ideas on maker?? thanks Mike

I only have circumstantial evidence to show who made them so I won't say until I have something more concrete.
P.S. The red stuff is grease.

It was Drillmation, a Michigan company. The contracts were 1966 thru 1967 with some delivery into 1968.

Follow on question on all this...
Where the Post-war bolts of the 50's and 60's (like the above bolt) manufacturered to same quality (metalurgy, tolerances, etc) as the WWII bolts which were closely inspected????
(ok, not getting into the flat vs round, revisions, heat treatment problems, etc)

I know Drillmation made carbine bolts in the 60' but doubt this is one of them.

Found this while searching Drillmation history...
Note: Paragraph 2 states that Drillmation had 2 contracts to build Carbine bolts and Suppresors for the Dept of the Army in 1966.
Big Question is.......... Where these to be used in Viet Nam? Or some where else?

Thanks to everyone for your information, I am happy to find that it has caused stimulated responses. I will watch for additional information. I have that bolt in a Winchester but do not remember where I got it many years ago. thanks again Mike

I had over 250 Drillmation bolts, new in packs of 10. Each had a D marked on the small locking lug. Time period, circa 1986-88.
The bolts were packed 10 to the pack, with a very unusual markings on the package. The company name was one the markings, which rarely occurred during the 1960's.
There were two different contracts, which I recently found my records of. The strange thing is most of the packages were marked Ferndale, Michigan, which was the records. A few were marked Center Line, Michigan, which now, keep my guessing.
I no longer have the packages, unfortunately. I did save the information.
Also the M was marked on the Bolt Body. Some bolts were missing the M, indicating either cheating, or production errors.
Added Information: The bolts were released from one of the underground facilities that were the hiding place for Nuclear War.
