    My Lee Enfields

    Hello all,
Having been reminded that I am yet to post on this forum - I thought I would put up a picture of some of my Lee Enfields. I also have a No 4 converted to 'look like a No 5' in .35/303 and another jungle carbine in .270/303.

    Cheers Troy

    Is that a shortened No.1?

Shortened No. 1 Mk III* Rifle

you seem to have an obsession with short firearms ! nice collection, the different calibres give the converted ones a bit of flair.

    Thanks all.

The No 1 was purchased originally as a 'bit of a hack' but goes quite well, pretty smooth and fun to shoot. Was shortened by a local gunsmith who seemed to do a few in recent years for farmers and fishermen (she is all legal - made sure that was checked out first up). I also got my hands onto a bantam butt for it, which may come off and be replaced for the original length only to make it a tad more comfortable. Anyway - adds something different to my cabinet.

As for the remainder - I am a No 5 nut. Bottom 2 are all original (1 from each factory) whilst the remainder are what I have purchased in a variety of cals. and got back to resemble what they were meant to look like. Just a bit of a hobby.

This is a recent photo of the No as I finished it off with some re-bluing.

Not that unusual that a no3 has been shortened, but most of the ones ive seen in the past were cut and shut for the use of 7.62 x 39 rounds when the owner had an over abundance of these rounds when there SKS rifles were grasped from them.
