While an appropriate accoutrement to any LE collection these little jems also have a practical use today. They will fit most military rifle chambers well enough to work. They will also fit most 30 caliber commercial chambers, especially anything based on the 30-06 and 308 cases. I always take one in my pocket to gun shows. They're easier and quicker to use to check a bore than most bore lights. I find the Vickers tool (the version with the handle) a bit easier to use in the field but both will work.
