Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. What are you asking Mike?
The gas cylinders were made by different companies and assembled on the barrels latter.

I had the option of buying several barrels with the gas block seperate. I guess it was also as a repair issue. They could be swaged on to a barrel that had a damaged gas block also.
