    GM,
I found the Military Surplus Collectors Forums while completing a search regarding the case dimenions on the Japaneseicon 6.5 x 51SR cartridge. I notice a comment regarding this cartridge and wanted to respond, perhaps providing information to the thread creator

    Hello everyone,

I'm another Brit with a love for FN L1A1 rifles. I have a deposit down on a straight pull L1A1 and am eagerly awaiting the email to say it's ready for collection.

    Cheers

    Newbie

Hello everyone. I have just joined the community. Not a firearms collector but interested in all things military as I was in there for 23 years. Go shooting (rough) and collect Britishicon medals and stuff.

    Regards,

    John

Old Nam era test score meanings

    Hi all,

I'm an ole nam vet just stopping by to say hi. Also, am trying to find out if anyone knows what those Army test score acronyms meant that we took at the start of Basic. My test was from Jan 1969. An example, AR stood for Arithmetic, OCT for Officer Candidate Test. There are about 25 different categories of test scores from my old military records (maybe a DA 20 form). Just out of curiosity was wondering what it all meant.

how to reduce free bore in No1 Mlll*

Hi everyone, im a new member from tassie (south island of Australiaicon), an need some help. I have Lee enfield No1 Mlll* that I have turned into a sporter, ramline stock etc. and have started reloading using 125 grn sierra pro hunter projectiles. The problem i have with this projectile is the loss of velocity caused by the amount of freebore and gas bypassing the projectile before it can engage in the rifling. The reloading data in the manual im using suggests I should be getting around 2900 fps but I estimate im only getting between 2000-2200 fps. Can some one give me some advice on if it is possible to have the throat shortened to help with this problem.

    7MM Venezuelan Mauser

Hi: I'm new on this site, looks pretty neat. Looking for info on a 7MM Mauser.

7MM Venezuelan Mauser serial # 35XXX, old style coat of arms with the horse facing right.

I wonder if anyone can tell more about this gun. It's in close to like new condition, serial numbers on the receiver, barrel & bolt match. Barrel is clean.

    Any idea of value?

No other marks other than shown in the pictures that I can find -- no marks on ths bottom of the receiver, no 2 digit mark where the BBL meets the receiver.

Do any marks confirm where the gun was made & what year?

It measures 44" overall, bbl measures 23-1/3"

Check the pictures for other marks -- The small rectangle box & marks on the bolt to the left of the S/N is shown in the past pic.

Is any particular ammo recommended for this gun? Any ammo to avoid?
