    H&R Garand Problem help?

Hello, I am new to this forum. I just bought my 5th Garandicon, an H&R from the CMPicon. I've been having a problem with its functioning:

About 1 - 3 times for every clip, the trigger does not reset and the hammer is down w/ the bolt closed on a chambered round. I am able to cock the hammer by pulling the bolt back about 2/3 of the way, and it will then fire that chambered round. The rifle ejects & feeds fine, and I am holding the trigger back after the shot.

Can anyone tell me what might be causing this problem? I had the trigger cleaned up by a former Army armorer, but he doesn't seem to thing it could be anything w/ the trigger, and suggested things like op rod problems, dirty gas system or chamber, etc. However, I cleaned & lubed it well before shooting it, and it was in near-mint condition as I got it from the CMP.

    Hello everyone
I am new to your forum. What a wealth of information here! I've had an M39 for years, and last year got an M1icon to participate in CMPicon games. Recently picked up a sporterized 03A3 that I am currently trying to return to original configuration. Don

I'm a new member to Milsurps. I'm interested in milsurps that are usable and are shooters. So, I'm more likely to find one with a little "character" to the stock and finish, but has a decent bore, instead of trying to find a like new example.

Hello every one. My name is Don from Joshua Tree. I live out here in the middle of no where,so I can do some long range shooting with no problems from neighbors. I'm ex military, Vietnam vet, ex Deputy sheriff. I'm divorced my ex and kids have pretty much pilfered my rifles and pistols. The only thing i have left is a 410 shot gun for snakes( i mean allot of snakes) and a lee enfield no 1 mk 3. My enfield had a problem of shooting down in a vertical string. The rifle was given to me, its history vague. I suspected bedding issues. The stock was glued to the barrel with epoxy. After a couple of days work I was able to brake it free and remove the epoxy. So my question to any one who can help. How to properly bed a no1 mk3, presure points considered, should it be free floated up to the fore end etc, any help or links would be appreciated, Don from Joshua Tree...

New Guy, new to Mosin Nagant mostly. I'd like to pick one up to and modify it synthetic stock, modern scope, modified bolt. What model would you recommend, I have two that are most accurate with bayonet attached, not what I would like in a modified version. I appreciate the thread about NOT refinishing the old mosins, I was seriously considering working mine over before I read it.
