    Another new guy

    Hi there,

My name is Mike, new to the collecting world. So far, only thing in the collection is a Mauser K98icon. Have spent some time in the past helping out with the Brantford Military Heritage Museum and generally just want to learn more about our military past.

Thanks for all the great knowledge you folks are willing to share!

    Cheers,

    Mike

Hello, nice to meet you all. My name is Will. I am a long-time collector of Canadianicon and German WWII militaria, with a focus on (but not limited to) the army and infantry. Along with helmets, uniforms, awards, etc. I do have some firearms, a Moisin Nagant, Britishicon Mk. III and Mauser K98a of WWI vintage, and from WWII an unissued Brno swp45 Czechicon Mauser K98icon and my recently acquired 1944 manufacture German K98. Now I am looking for a nice period German sling to complete it. I also have a P-38 and P-08. Guess that's about it for now.
If anyone knows where I can get a sling, I am all ears.

    New Guy to This Forum

    Evening.
Stumbled onto this forum following a link on surplusrifle about the Red Star Remington 1903 Rifles that the U.S. provided to the U.K. early in WWII.

I have been lurking on all the usual milsurp related sites under same name. This site looks awesome wrt available info.

Started collecting and shooting milsurps around 2004 after getting sucked into the "Going, going, soon there will be no more forever" B.S. in a Mitchell's Mauser advertisement.
It was after that that I discovered all the info that's out there on the Internet.
To date in addition to the Mitchell's Yugoicon M48A (which by the way is a great shooter) have acquired CMPicon Garandicon and 03A3, Red Star Remington 03, 91/30, 91/59, Savage No 4 Mk 1*, RC K98icon, T-99 Arisakaicon, Ishapore 2A, and another 03A3.
    I shoot all of them.
Looking forward to increasing my knowledge of milsurps here!
    Have a good weekend.
    Bob
