1943 Colt 1911A1
Since it's the one hundred year anniversary of the adoption of the classic US M1911 I decided to celebrate by liberating a '43 Colt 1911A1 from a local hockshop. Here are some pics.

Len, it looks like you got yourself a very nice Colt A1 there. Is this something that you ran across by chance? The parts that can be seen look correct. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us.

Have you checked behind the firing pin stop plate to see if the slide is numbered to the receiver, and what is the marking on the bottom of the barrel ahead of the lug?
