You aren't the only one who has pondered this question. I'm curious as well!

For years the only sling we used was a canvas green one. It had one end wide at about 3' and the other was more the conventional 1 1/4'. There was a keeper that had a thumb screw that you could adjust the fit with. I think they only used a one point attatchment on the front.

According to the Canadian C3 Workshop manual the official sling used with the rifle is:-
SLING - SMALL ARMS
BRETELLE D’ARMES PORTATIVES
1005-21-873-0033
Even though the sling shown in the pics for the C1 and C3 rifle look the same they are completely different as the NSN for the C1 Rifle Sling is 1005-21-103-1156. Someone got lazy and copied and pasted the same 'sling' line drawing into the both documents.

Here in New Zealand the C3 used a sling almost the same as the L42 Sling, I have a C3 with all acc's (tranist case, slings, drag bag, etc). My rifle is ex-NZ police the same as the NZ army rifles but blued instead of parkerized finish.
Slings top right

Thanks Chris,
Your sling is very different compared to the Canadian version. The Canadian sling is 2" on the front end and 1 1/4" on the rear, this is about all I know about them.
The Canadian C3's came in Polished blue, Matte Blue and Parkerized.
Mine is an early Polished, I note that the bolt knob is flat on the out side, mine is flat on the back side and some were a full round knob, for a rifle that there were just over a thousand +/- there is certainly a lot of variability. Yours also appears to have a one piece base, the Cnucks had a 2 pc base.
Do you have any pics of the case?

Hi again
Sorry for the delay, my C3 is an ex-NZ police AOS (armed officers squad) rifle I guess they just copied the NZ army's sniper; very small order so is based on a standard rife. The transit case and acc are all the same as the NZ army's. Cheers
