Thanks for the photos. I do not think that this is a military item. I had a gadget like this when I was a boy - it is the precursor of the modern idea of a hex-bit screwdriver with a set of bits in the handle. To settle the question of its origin, I would still like to see a close-up of the marking with the mysterious "sprewalde".
