I Need Help with a Dilema
I recently purchased a Type 2 (ref Riesch) Winchester pattern barrel band. I got it with my very late 4.84M QHMC in mind but now I am wondeing if there were enough of these Type 2 bands used by QHMC to make this a reasonably representative restoration. My research is giving me mixed info. I have a good unmkd./QU Type 1 band on it now and I'm thinking this may be just as 'correct' as the wide band, if not more so. I have a 5.60M Winchester and a 4.25M NPM that I can use the wide band on but I'm thinking perhaps the narrow bands that I have on all of them may be the more representative of what was coming off the assebly line at the time they were manufactured. None of these carbines are unmolested (or even close) original pieces.
I would appreciate any and all opinions to reach a consensus re the probability of a Type 2 Winchester band originally installed on any or all of the above noted carbines. I don't have War Baby and I tend to place too much iron-clad reliance on the literal wording of some of the other references and research materials that I do have. Thanks for any help.

The info in warbaby about T2 band useage is kind of vague, some of the other authors may be a bit overzealous when declaring things that simply arent know as fact. I would say it is accepted that any of the above carbines would be possibly correct with a T2 band. I can say the band of my bring back QHMC 4.85 looks like what most call a winnie T2 band.
