Yes, do the Brian thing you will get a true and genuine #4 Mk1 not something someone has cobbled up. Beware auction dealers (at least some of them) if you dont have a good knowledge of the Enfield Rifleicon. Often Enfields are mis-labeled by sellers because they, honestly or otherwise, do not know the details of what they are trying to sell.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Bulldog, I don't understand your post. Have you had a problem w/Springfield Sporters? What does "all the wat across the board" mean, exactly?
    TIA.

If you are in the U.S.iconA., another good place to get an Enfield is through Tom Dubay in St. Clair, Michigan. Contact him via e-mail at : eastwestmilitary@comcast.net
I think he is still in Arizona, but will be home soon. The above address is good no matter where he is.

Ok this thread was a great help on the search I'm about to go on. I'm going after an Ishapore Enfield and I'd just as soon not come up with a junker. Thanks for all the info guys!

    It is coming!

As suggested I contact BDLicon but he did not have the rifle that I was looking for. But thanks to Jona I contact Tom from East-West Military and he had the rifle I was looking for, in fact he also had a Mauser k98 (USGI bring back not Russianicon capture) and I was to week not to get it too. With this I will have a M1icon, Enfield and Mouser all from 1943. The Mosin I have is from 1931. Will report once I get the rifles, but include some of the pictures he send me.

    Thanks
    Alex
