So one idiot mass killer bought some magazines from ebay. They have to be so politically correct? They are losing lots of money from people like me who used to get their reloading stuff from them.

It's probably a great feeling to be able to sit back and knock EBAY and other sites with restrictive rules on firearm related activeties and parts. Maybe instead we should be picking on the people that made the need for the restrictions instead.
Ebay is a viable and useful source for traders and people looking for whatever, I use it to aquire a lot of firearm parts. If I want ammunition or major weapon parts then I use a firearms dealership and use my money to promote them, instead of wasting their time trying to source some obsolete part that may be available through Ebay or Tradingpost, or some other obscure sight or outlet.
You do'nt go to Woolworths to pickup Lumber, just as you do'nt expect to find gun parts in a chemists.The restrictions are there to protect those types of Industry against the do gooders who have the power to destroy business activety, as can be seen by the effect they have on the political decision makers who are the ones that really are to blame for any restriction on our activeties, along with the criminals that have no intention of abiding by any of the rules and regulations that are causing us so much grief.

eBay is a mess for those seeking parts for firearms but there are parts there and they are cheap when compared to small dealers in shops and gunstores.

Let's face facts: eBay just about destroyed the firearms parts business for many shops. No longer did you have to shop the small ads in the back of magazines or Shotgun News. No more trekking back and forth to dealers who didn't give a tinker's damn about that you wanted or if you ever got it. I ordered a sight from a local dealer who demanded payment (well beyond what I thought it was worth) and then finally admitted six months later when I placed him under some duress, he had never ordered the part and didn't know where to find it. He also bluntly stated that I wouldn't take him to small claims as the amount (about $75) was too small. About that he at least spoke the truth.

eBay has tried several formulas to get people buying and keep them working with the site but the economy has fallen straight through to the basement and people are not buying as much or as often. I know I certainly don't.

GB is sort of a hodge-podge with difficult-to-read ads and prices that approach astronomical from time to time. Other times, they are pretty reasonable. But always a hodge-podge. I don't even shop there anymore. Auction Arms is better and more reasonable. But, I stopped searching for parts as most have dried up or gone sky-high.

But, I know where I can get a beveled nose gas lock in perfect condition as provided by SA. And an immediate post-war square-nose. And a high hump. All at prices that are cheaper than the junked out parts dealers want $30 for a local gunshows.

Less than 2 cents worth, but that's all you get. Don't mean to start an argument and hope I didn't.

You hit it on the head in my opinion, Mack -

I have the same trouble trying to find parts locally sometimes, and I live in a large metro area. You have to figure in all the money you spend going to shows, shops, etc looking for an odd part you never find, or to get a fair deal if you do find it. I can imaging how difficult it is for people who live in more isolated areas. There are some very good people, and outstanding sellers there too who are very honest and don't sell fake junk or give you a bad experience. I've gotten to know some I trust very much and have bought things from them for years.

I get ticked off at a lot of eBay's BS, but I still find myself going there when I need something (or even when I don't) and often find exactly what I wanted at a fair price. Sometimes fighting a cause is impractical when something becomes a standard and the only person you hurt is yourself. Kind of like fighting windmills -
I remember a time when I completely resisted anything to do with computers too!

I think Ebay makes their ignorant PC 'rules' trying to appease certain segments, but in reality they don't/cannot police them, or even know what is what themselves. They're in it for a profit and try to play to all sides. It's unfair and hard on sellers sometimes what/when they enforce some rules but as a buyer looking for things you can't find anywhere else it's often the best deal around.

*I think most gun parts get pulled when someone private individual 'reports' them and ebay pulls the item so they look like they actually care about their posted rules. In reality it's common sense why they don't want to stop auctions if they don't have to - they lose money.

I can hardly search through GB anymore because of all the silly high prices where people are fishing for a mullet. The problem there is sellers can list items forever without having to pay fees each time they re-list, and some people keep posting the same items over and over with crazy priced items hoping the mullet finally strikes.

Ebay. Lots of problems with them. Made a deal with a buyer, I would send him double the Trig Locks he won & paid for off my sale, and he could send me the extra money, for the extra locks,he owed me after locks arrived. He agreed,he's Pawnmann00 with 3,000 transactions and score of 98. A month after locks arrived in California and 4 unawnsered requests I could not give a buyer a neg feedback. So I gave a pos with a message telling the world to boucottte this guy and that he owned me $50. A couple hrs later he majically sent me a feed back and a message too. A 2nd time the Museum in Dieepe France sent me money to mail a 1944 uniform overnight, but their total was almost 100 bucks short(UPS was $270!). They never did pay shortage. I don't give any buyers any quarter anymore! Every penny paid upfront.
Ebay has good customers and theives for customers too.Buyers are treated badly by ebay. Buyers beware.
