Question on '03
I've been looking at an '03, serial #1535xxx, Old Guns Net shows manufacture date of 1939. Barrel is an SA 12-41. Seller things it may be a rework. Is it possible the barrel is original to the receiver?

Yes, there is a good possibility. A number of late receivers were assembled into complete rifles after the start of WWII (although nowhere near the 50,000 that some maintain).
What else do you know about this rifle? Sounds interesting!
