This is the tock on Inland 2,954,xxx. It is a highwood, I cut. Is it correct for the serial number?

I know I've seen earlier serial numbered Inlands, supposedly correct, that had oval cut highwoods. One was #987,xxx. I would guess the I cuts would have continued to be used (mixed with the ovals) till they simply ran out of them. Easily putting them into that 2.9 mill. range. So I guess yes...correct.

If it is RMC marked in slingwell I would say yes, but I would say to late if it was an H.I. or OI stock

You have seen the loose RMC I marked stocks with the Inland acceptance stamp, and you can read about them in the books, but it's great to see an original example and serial number that Inland actually used this stock. I remember when you bought this one. Glad it went to a good home. Great find.
