I just spotted your post regarding your Fianna Fail 1916 bubbah. What a pity. About 2 years ago i picked up a bargain SMLE 1916 whose serial number is 1916! Unfortunatley its not all matching. The nose cap and rear sight are different but all the rest is marked 1916. Lots of Irish connections in that date of course. And yours is especially so. I,ll try to attach a few pics
