Knox form markings
What was an "N" on the knox form supposed to signify? Not around the books and can't remember.

Do you have a pic? What model of Enfield? Country and year? Any other markings you can describe that are on the piece would be helpful ..

No. 1 MKIII, just an "N" on the flat of the knox form, could date to the WWII years.
Thanks

Could it be to signify a rebarrel?

Absolutely no help whatsoever - but maybe useful in the future (and it shows I tried to help !!)
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

Not listed I see, it's definately a capital letter "N". I'll see what other marks may be on it. I think it was a WWII era replacement.

I've got an 'N' on the wrist of one of my .22 trainers, for 'Navy'?

Yes. A 1/4 inch high "N" on the receiver, left side, usually near the butt socket was Navy.

Do you think that might be the case for one with an "N" on the knox form flat?
