Nice 49 Long Branch
Finally connected on a 1949 Long Branch in Walnut, VG condition. I believe this one made a trip to Belgium
and back.

Superb. What an insult those bloody stamped trigger guards were. I suppose they passed all the tests, but I can't stand the sight of them!
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”
Edward Bernays, 1928
Much changes, much remains the same.

The back sight is not LB marked, the prior owner switched it out, he provided it to me.

No, that is an orphan I found a couple of years ago. I am putting the kit back together piece by piece with an LB L42 Project. The REL is one of the MK3 scopes that was upgraded to L1A1 spec.

It is an LB L42 built from L42 parts on a 1943 LB action. Bit of a story behind this one...
