first of all welcome to my maiden thread.second, let me state quite clearly this is not a no4(t), it is my replica, repro, homage or call it what you will built to compete at my local club in surplus sniper matches in the spitit of a T
the donor rifle is a 1942 faz no4 mk1/2 ftr'd in1954. the pads, mount and cheek piece are from numrich guncorp in the us, the sling is a repro knox of top quality and stamped milsco 1942, the scope covers are made by a guy in the uk, the scope is a weaver k2.5 tube with more modern k3 internals, the adjustment is of the older clicker type and the graticle is a fine crosshair so the body can be turned through 90' to replicate the no32 setup(windage and elevation become reversed). the sunshade and the adjustment drums were turned down by a mate with his lathe to my specs then araldited and screwed down using existing screws. i knocked it up in my garage over a weekend and it collimated perfectly first time! begginers luck i suppose.
ive used it with great success out to 300m and all up i would estimate it has cost me about $1000aud. having said all that ill admit bidding on several genuine no32,s on evil bay and having set myself a budjet i always get outbid at the last. having read all the posts of late about wanting to build replicas i thought i would show and tell. i still cant manage to post pictures so i mailed them to badger to post for me, so please be patient. and if anyone wants to ask "why?" the answer is cos it was fun!

That is a fine clone. I'm impressed with the scope knobs and sun shade. I think I may be in front of my lathe for a day or so after seeing that. I have one clone with a K2.5 and another in the works.

Just as a little aside, the best thing to do is to buy the biggest heap of tat No32 scope that you can find plus a bit of a heap No42/53 telescope. Providing that the major parts are still with it, it can be rebuilt/restored using the donor No42/53. I'd say that buying a heap of tat plus a donor plus the labour would be (?) less £££'s then a minty scope to start with. Unless anyone feels differently or has had a contrary experience

The LAST thing you need is one of them there numrich repro's. There's a couple of threads here about the Numrich repro 32's you need to read before you waste you're money on one. Take Peter's advice on finding a real 32 and have it rebuilt, then you'll have something worthwhile. Except for the optics, the repro's are poor quality an not worth the price.

Now that is really awesome, well done! Putting that brass front end on the scope was a clever touch, why someone hadn't thought of that before I'll never know.

Especially clever to have used the crosshair reticle rather than the post so that you can turn the scope 90 degrees to have the drums on top and left side!

I have a K3 with post/crosshair, so I can't do that, and I have no access to the necessary shop equipment nor personal skill to mount the pads, despite Peter Laidler's fine instructions. So a No4T look-alike is not within my reach. The Armalon mount for the No4, combined with Burris standard steel low-mount rings seems a slightly expensive (about $125 all together) but very low-skill (and reversible!) route to something that might approximate a shoot-alike using my 1942 Long Branch. My calculations are that combination of Armalon mount, Burris rings and Weaver K3 will give a barrel-centre to scope-centre distance of 1.875", rather than the 1.7" .

Question..... Will the optic lens's out of a 42 or 53 fit in one of the Numrich scopes, and if so, what other parts are weak?
