I know that this is just a bit off subject - sort of - but I'm just trying to kick start a thread or two as things seem a bit slow lately.......
BUT, if anyone out there in Forumland has a No4 foresight protector that has a number stamped on the left side then what you have is a former Mk5 Sten Gun protector. It was put there to identify the Sten barrel to a particular gun in order for that gun to maintain its zero.
Many ex Indian No4's seem to have numbered foresight protectors taken off Mk5 Stens

Its a set screw for sure and possibly a grub screw (a blind set screw) but it isn't it's drive that defines it. Grub screws can have many types of drive. Hex (Allen) is very common and in my early days with a large blue computer company I used Bristow drive set screws. (Star shaped, a bit like a Torx drive.)
