Early Underwood stock mising CC??

How often do early Underwoods show up without a CC?

This one doesnt seem to show any reminants of having one. Picked it up in a two gun lot at RIA last week..

I don't remember how long they didn't use it but it was long enough that the ones with no CC do show up quite a bit. Obviously most have been rebuilt and cut down, but you do see them.

Mine is SN 1422508, about 23,000 later than yours, type 2 stock, no CC. Is your stock type 1? All my parts are .U. marked

same here on mine but it is an RMC stock

It is a Type 2 oval cut highwood stock, thanks for the pics of other stocks without the CC, I guess it is a fairly common occurance on these. All parts on this 1.39 are U marked except the handguard.

That is a VERY nice carbine, is that the one that was aquired from the factory by your father?

i seen that, an RMC marked handguard would be correct for a 1.39 mil underwood, as long as its a deep groove

It is missing the Ordnance stamp. The Cartouche is there on both of them.
