Upon close inspection, the throat of the chamber is extremely frosty and I guess the round is getting hung up at the throat. Would a fix to get it ejecting like normal be to hone and polish the chamber with some 1200 grit sandpaper, or something along those lines? If fed a few rounds of LC69 normally, but never once correctly fed HXP. Other than that, it was fun to shoot. Thanks for any remedies.
Sorry I didn't notice your post sooner!
I don't think a careful polish would hurt anything, either. Esp. since the LC69 worked. It's definitely on the low end of the power scale. The Greek runs more at original power levels. So the LC69 would be rather easier to extract as the case walls aren't driven into as tight of contact with the chamber due to the lower peak pressures.

Thank you Harpers Ferry, repeat "thank you thank you thank you". I just checked mine and it does have a number on the upper ear of the butt plate. According to your comment that means it is a Marine issued rifle. Other than Canfield's book is there another source of information on these interesting old rifles?
