scout scope mount for no1 mk3?
Does anyone remember who made or makes those 'scout' scope mounts for the no1 mk3 that attaches in place of the rear sight leaf? I haven't seen them around for a while. I though they were a real cheesy idea, that is until I saw the ww2 german sniper with the same set up and a couple of gold stars for being a good rifle, go figa ... , and lol don't worry, I'm not buying one, just researching stuff, cheers rjwnz
here's something to look at as a reward, a $7k rifle sold at auction last year in the us, G 41 + ZF40 scope, repro mount, I foudn it on google images

I've never found an aftermarket scope base for an SMLE that's worth a damn. I gave up selling them a few years ago. I had an S&K shear off once because the little aluminum plate that fits in the charger bridge had to be filed so thin to make it fit that it just let go after three rounds. A scout base made for the rear sight base with a long eye relief scope would be OK I guess but I don't know that anyone has ever designed one for the SMLE.
