SMLE Mount
Does anyone recognse this bracket/mount?
I believe that it is designed to fit the receiver of a No1.MkIII.
I have just sourced the mount ex-NZ and I am trying to determine its' origin and confirm that is is in fact for a SMLE.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thank you
Paul

Aren't these called a 'Field'?, and yes that looks like smle, they're good.

I have an SMLE field mount and it is different to that one. Having said that, it's quite reasonable to expect they made more than one mount. Mine has 'field' cast into it so I would look for the name to be sure.

Interesting. I've handled this particular mount and there's no way it will fit on a Lee-Enfield. It appears to be made for a larger diameter fully round receiver.

My Field mount has a bar that is mounted to the receiver, then the scope mount itself attaches to that. This looks like a direct attachment to me.
