Knob Creek Purchases
I mentioned in another thread that I picked up a couple of items today at the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot.
The first item is a No4 Action Skeleton. Brian Dick
has been working on this for over a year and hopefully when he gets back from Knob Creek, he can explain all of the headaches he had and what all he had to do. I am very pleased with the outcome and thought I would share some pictures of Brian's work. One of the reason I prefer to deal with Brian is that he has always gone the extra mile for me. With some of the issues he was having, he could have simply told me to forget about it. I had actually forgotten about it until Brian sent me an e-mail a month ago and told me it would be ready by the shoot.
The other item I was able to get from Brian was a No8 MkI case for my L1A1 telescope. I did not think my chances were very good of finding one and if I did, I knew I would pay for it. Well, sure enough, Brian had one left!!

When you get to Perth Airport you are still 209km of the best rifle range in Gods Own Country. Just ask Trooper554877, he has been there once or twice.

While we are on the subject, a trip to the Knob Creek shoot is on my agenda someday and have always wondered how hard it would be to get hotel rooms in the area during the event? I know this a popular attraction so would a fellow have to book years ahead? Perhaps anyone who has been there from abroad would have some advice for the members? thanks,

It's best to book somewhat in advance but with the decreased crowds thanks to the crap economy, it's not as bad as it used to be. Be advised that the closer you get to the range, the more expensive the rooms are. They're learning after 20 years or so of the influx of people twice a year.

Don't have any pics as of yet but I also picked up a few things from Brian. He was kind enough to put aside the EMER's for the L42 and L96 rifles. He also delivered a No4 sniper project that was perfectly re-barreled with the correct finish applied. FWIW, the EMER manuals make great bed time reading, about one page is all it takes...
