Commercial Controls Corporatrion was only a name change for National Postal Meter. After their contract for carbines ended they made parts for 1903 rifle and continued to make fuses for bombs and such. They did not take over Standard Products who after the war went back to making parts for cars. In 1949 they received a contract to rebuild carbines and upgrade them.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. My comment was a shot in the dark anyway, I knew Commercial Controls came in some place, but didn't have my "War Baby" at hand to check. Thanks for providing the correct info! My "CRS" kicked in again, and laziness kept me from looking it up.

A note about stock mounted mag pouches. I used to have them on all my carbines until I read a thread a couple of years back where someone had a problem with the snaps scratching the finish on the stock. I immediately removed all my pouches and noticed some slight rub marks on a couple of the stocks. I felt lucky. Its okay as long as the stock isn't a rare one, but why risk it?!

I still say the fake pouch makers are missing the boat on this. A fake pouch with no snap or a fake " outside only " snap , either metal or cloth , so you have a display but no scratchy.

Hope it's OK to join in, kinda' new here. Does anyone here have a spring tube Rock ? I know they made a few in early 43, I think, but I have never seen one. I figured with the supply dried/drying up my 13 would be the only ones I'd ever have.

Mikey51 you can PM me and maybe It will come through.
I saw a rebuilt Rock-Ola Springtube sell on GB cheap. Poor pictures and only one picture showed part of the springtube. They are out there.
