Just to add this mans father got this after landing at D-Day. They had made it to a village that the Enemy had mistreated its citizens. Apparently the GI's took it to heart and from what he told me the officer that this was taken from was face down and as I understand it was executed. The badges were taken from his uniform and pinned onto the holster. My new friends Dad had donated some other war stuff to a local war museum that I will soon be checking out, as I would like to learn more about this brave man, as he is no longer with us.Information
