I thought it would take a bit longer then that Harlan. Good going.

So now you can see why I haven't done anything with it. It's a special project, that I'm not in the mood to do.
Though I do have one, went back to the garage, to dig it out for a picture.

Phenomenal, Jim!!!!
(GOSH, I'd love to spend a day in your garage!)
I understand not feeling like going through all the work to put it together.
I'll do you a big favor though - Just send all the parts to me I'll do it for you!

Very nice "scope" to say the least. I also have an Underwood I cut stock with MARLIN in the identical location and stamped the same way. Mine too has been cut down and isn't in near the nice condition yours is. I wonder how many Underwood stocks got stamped MARLIN that way instead of M-U. I looked it up in War Baby and it didn't break it down that way. The gun that the stock goes with is one of the earliest production Underwood carbines I've ever seen. The serial number starts with 135xxxx.

I haven't seen but a handful with Marlin spelled out. I don't know how many or how scarce they are. I also looked in War Baby. I do know they are not common.
Scarce I cut and stock marking, pre-drilled for the mount. Should interest someone. Oh Marcus.........

The strange thing to me is the very early stock with the late UEF/GHD cartouche.
Lots of oddities here on this one Jim. Your scope is just like mine sitting in its box.
To much to break to just be sitting around and don't want to use up a good carbine to mount it on!!
