Pretty average to poor gun show this time round unless you happen to like lever actions. Several overpriced No.4's, several INSANELY overpriced No.4s and a sprinkling of No.1s and 2A1a. There were three No.5 in the whole place and oddly enought all were within 20 yards of one another. I haggled one guy down by $75 for his No.5 (last day last hour) and after a rub with a cloth with BLO/ turps and some cleaning I'm very pleased. Mint bore and all matching number W84xx, including the forend and imagazine, made in July of 1946. Couple of storage dings but that's about it. With the $75 I bought a 1916 matching No.1Mk3* (with the * lined out on the buttsocket) sporter c/w cut off and really strong rifling. A wee bit dark in the grooves but nothing 30 rounds rapid fire will not clean right out. The foresight on this on MAY be untouched and it may be refurbishable. it appears to have a ramp foresight but on close inspection it looks like a ramp shaped cover has been fitted over the orignal sight base to make it look more sportereeeish. Anyone seen this before?
